What began as the 34th volunteer chapter of a national evidence-based model, our mission evolved into a Los Angeles County-based movement rooted in storytelling, community, and social change makers co-designing and co-creating how Black families can truly thrive beyond the perinatal post-partum period.

By uplifting the lived experiences and stories across generations of Black women and allies, we’ve reframed harmful narratives around maternal and infant mortality (death) and morbidity (dying) by shifting the focus from crisis to healing, resilience, and work-rest rhythms.
